Project Overview

Imeko — a town in Imeko Afon LGA near the Ogun State–Benin Republic border — holds extraordinary spiritual significance for millions of Celestials worldwide. Known within the Celestial Church of Christ as the 'Celestial City' and likened to Jerusalem, Imeko is the prophetically designated Holy City and global headquarters of the CCC, initiated in 1983 by the church's founder Prophet Samuel Oshoffa. The CCC was founded in 1947 in Dahomey (now Benin) and has spread across West Africa, Europe, and North America. Every December, the Celestial City hosts the international Imeko Convocation — drawing tens of thousands of pilgrims from Nigeria, Benin, the UK, and the United States. Envostructs completed outstanding construction works at the Celestial City complex, contributing to the ongoing development of the church's global spiritual home.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenges

  • Remote site logistics — Imeko's location near the Benin border required advance planning for materials delivery and labour accommodation
  • Working within a living place of worship — the Celestial City receives pilgrims year-round, requiring respectful construction protocols
  • CCC's specific spiritual requirements for the character of spaces at the Holy City required close liaison with church leadership
  • Construction timeline aligned with the CCC events calendar to complete before the major December Imeko Convocation

Our Solutions

  • Materials pre-staged at Imeko during dry season when access roads were most reliable, reducing mid-project supply disruptions
  • Construction hours and activities agreed with the CCC Celestial City management to respect worship schedules
  • Regular consultation with the CCC Worldwide Building Committee to ensure works conformed to the Holy City's spiritual character
  • Accelerated programme during off-pilgrimage months to deliver completed works well ahead of the December Convocation
